    Day 1

    Arrive into Cardiff Airport and collect car, remainder of day at leisure in Cardiff.  Optional sightseeing includes the National Museum, Cardiff Castle and St Fagan’s National History Museum.  Overnight Cardiff.

    Day 2

    Breakfast in hotel.  Depart Cardiff and head west, suggested places of interest include Kenfig Pool which is steeped in folklore – is there a village under the waters of the pool?  Also Margam Abbey and Stones Museum and the Gower Peninsula, home of the Verry Volk (Faerie Folk) and many picturesque ruins.  Overnight Gower area.

    Day 3

    Breakfast in hotel.  Further exploration of the Gower Peninsula, cursed Pennard Castle, Gower Heritage Centre and many more sites of folklore and mystery.  Overnight  Gower area.

    Day 4

    Breakfast in hotel.  Depart Gower and head west.  Visit Carmarthen, thought by many to be the birthplace of Merlin of Arthurian legend, be sure to explore Merlin’s Hill.  Continue west.  Overnight Pembroke area.

    Day 5

    Breakfast in hotel.  Visit St David’s Cathedral, St Non’s Holy Well and Chapel.  Head north, stopping to explore St Brynach’s Church, Nevern, with bleeding yews and Ogham Stones.  Overnight Aberystwyth area.

    Day 6

    Breakfast in hotel.  Depart Aberystwyth and head north into Snowdonia National Park.  Explore Betws y coed, set within magical countryside, which has inspired many Celtic myths and fables, including the tale of Sir Bedivere and the sword Excalibur.  Overnight Snowdonia.

    Day 7

    Breakfast in hotel.  Time at leisure to explore the North Wales area, including a venture onto Anglesey to visit some of the burial chambers, ancient settlements and atmospheric standing stones.  Overnight Snowdonia.

    Day 8

    Breakfast in hotel.  Depart Snowdonia and return to the airport to head for home.
