Day 1
Arrive in Scotland. Afternoon visit to Royal Botanic Gardens and/or Greenbank Gardens. Overnight Glasgow
Day 2
Take the ferry to Dunoon to visit Younger Botanic Gardens, followed by Inveraray Castle, home to the Duke of Argyll, head of Clan Campbell, and the magnificent woodland Crarae Gardens. Overnight Tarbert area
Day 3
A visit to Achamore Gardens on the island of Gigha. Overnight Tarbert area
Day 4
Visit Arduaine Gardens before stopping at Dunstaffnage Castle. Overnight Oban area
Day 5
Transfer north, visiting Drummond Castle Gardens and Blair Castle en route. Overnight Inverness area
Day 6
Day trip to Inverewe Gardens, Victorian gardener Osgood Mackenzie’s creation, where, thanks to the benign influence of the Gulf Stream, exotic sub-tropical plants flourish, despite the northerly latitude. Return via Corrieshalloch Gorge, a 200 ft deep box canyon, with views to the Falls of Measach. Overnight Inverness area
Day 7
Transfer to Aberdeen, via scenic Speyside. A visit to Glenfiddich Distillery, Dufftown then on to 16th century Crathes Castle, with its remarkable painted ceilings and fabulous gardens, situated near Banchory on Royal Deeside. Overnight Aberdeen
Day 8
A morning visit to the Duthie Winter Gardens before heading south via the unique walled garden at Edzell Castle. Overnight Edinburgh area
Day 9
A morning visit to the renowned Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh, with afternoon free to explore this historic beautiful and picturesque city, with optional visit to the Castle, perched atop volcanic rock, overlooking Princes Street and the gardens. Overnight Edinburgh area
Day 10
Depart for home
