Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Manchester Airport, meet your private driver and start your journey, travelling through the Cheshire countryside into North Wales. Stop off at Llangollen for lunch, where there are many independent cafes and restaurants to choose from. Take a walk afterwards along the Victoria Promenade, bordering the River Dee. Continue to Conwy, a beautiful medieval coastal town and your introduction to Wales. Overnight Conwy.

Day 2

Start your day exploring Conwy Castle before heading with your driver to Eyri (Snowdonia) National Park where you will find beautiful scenery and historic villages. Visit the charming village of Beddgelert, steeped in Welsh folklore, before continuing on to Portmeirion, famous for its colourful architecture. Created by the Welsh architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, the village was designed to show how a naturally beautiful site could be developed without spoiling it. Overnight Conwy.

Day 3

Departing Conwy, head south enjoying Mid-Wales scenery, heading to the pretty market town of Welshpool. Here you will find the 13th century medieval Powis Castle, with historic collections, and world famous garden. For those who enjoy railway travel, the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway offers a heritage journey through the Mid-Wales countryside, with a 16mile return journey. Continue heading south to the market town of Abergavenny, which has a thriving food scene, and sits between the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. Overnight Abergavenny.

Day 4

Today your driver will take you through the scenic Brecon Beacons National Park to the town of Brecon. Suggested visits here include the Cathedral and taking some time to enjoy a walk along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, often considered Britain’s prettiest canal. The Brecon Basin is a great place to start a canal walk. This afternoon head to the famous literary town of Hay-on-Wye. A book lover’s paradise, but also offering great outdoor adventures, whether walking in the mountains or heading out on the water. Overnight Abergavenny.

Day 5

Your Welsh adventure has sadly finished as today you head over the border back into England, however the stunning Cotswolds await. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty spans 800 square miles and five counties in England. Famous for its rolling hills and honey-coloured villages, this area offers the quintessential British countryside experience. Spend today visiting some of the towns and villages that make this area so special. Overnight South Cotswolds area.

Day 6

The city of Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is your destination today. Famous for its hot Springs, Georgian architecture and magnificent Abbey. A visit to The Roman Baths is a must, where you can explore the remarkably preserved ancient bathing and temple complex. For those who enjoy gardens, visit the Georgian Garden, a preserved 18th-century town garden. While visiting the city, head to one of the many independent cafes to enjoy the local Bath Bun. Overnight South Cotswolds area.

Day 7

Leaving the Cotswolds, heading south with a stop off at Stonehenge, the famous prehistoric monument on Salisbury Plain. From here head to England’s ancient capital, Winchester. The city is steeped in history and a visit to Winchester Cathedral is a must. One of the longest and most historically significant medieval cathedrals in Europe. Overnight Winchester.
