Yes it can be a wee bit chilly and occasionally wet but the winter months can be a fantastic time to visit Scotland! No huge crowds, beautiful scenery and lots to experience.

This 8 night package mixes the best of city and country life with a taster of winter sports, whisky and history combined with time to enjoy our two main cities: Edinburgh and Glasgow.

    Day 1

    Arrive Glasgow, private transfer to hotel.  Meet your guide in your hotel reception for your private afternoon walking tour of Glasgow.  As Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow is famed for its culture, shopping and people.  Overnight Glasgow.

    Day 2

    Breakfast in your hotel before you make your way to Snow Factor for a snow boarding taster session.  Afternoon at leisure to explore the city of Glasgow, perhaps taking advantage of the great shopping.  Overnight Glasgow.

    Day 3

    Breakfast in hotel, check-out and collect rental car.  Start your journey North stopping off at Loch Lomond for a cruise followed by a visit to Glencoe Visitor Centre, transformed in 2019, this eco-friendly visitor centre, nestled in a woodland glade, is an essential starting point for your adventures in Glencoe.  Get a taste of the stories that make the glen so special and discover more about walks, weather, wildlife to spot and things to do on your visit.  Admire the stunning scenery as you make your way to Fort William.  Overnight Fort William.

    Day 4

    Breakfast in hotel then take a ride on the Nevis Range Gondola the only one of its kind in Britain and reaches the heights of 650m.  It was built on the north face of Aonach Mòr, the 8th highest mountain in Britain, originally as a way to transport skiers to the slopes.  You can enjoy the scenic ride and absorb the stunning views and clear mountain air.  In the afternoon visit Ben Nevis Distillery established in 1825 and situated at the foot of Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, Ben Nevis distillery is an impressive and historic place.  Overnight Fort William.

    Day 5

    Breakfast in hotel and check-out.  Travel North towards Inverness where you will stop off at Urquhart Castle and discover more than 1,000 years of stirring history centred on the Great Glen. The magnificently situated Urquhart Castle, on the shore of Loch Ness, has seen some of the most dramatic chapters in our nation’s story.  Explore Inverness before starting your journey South to Aviemore.  Overnight Aviemore.

    Day 6

    Breakfast in hotel.  Spend your morning visiting the Reindeer Centre where Britain’s only free-ranging herd of reindeer can be found found in the Cairngorm mountains in Scotland. In the afternoon visit the dog sledding experience where you will explore the awesome thrill and power of a top class sleddog team in training for European events & Mountain expeditions. These tame and friendly animals are a joy to all who come and see them. Overnight Aviemore.

    Day 7

    Breakfast in hotel, check-out and continue journey South.  Stop off at House of Bruar which is the ultimate scottish luxury shopping experience with local produce and top quality scottish clothing and gifts.  You can also enjoy the Falls of Bruar walk, the Falls have been recognised as a spectacular local beauty spot for over 200 years. In fact, on visiting the area in 1787, Robert Burns was inspired to write “The Humble Petition of Bruar Water” as a request to the 4th Duke of Atholl.  Continuing your journey towards Edinburgh you can stop off at Stirling Castle one of Scotland’s grandest castles due to its imposing position and impressive architecture. The Scenery will take your breath away.  Travelling towards Edinburgh you will pass the stunning Kelpies before arriving in the Capital City of Scotland.  Return your rental car.  Overnight Edinburgh.

    Day 8

    Breakfast in hotel.  Spend the morning exploring the iconic Edinburgh Castle which is one of the oldest fortified places in Europe. With a long rich history as a royal residence, military garrison, prison and fortress, it is alive with many exciting tales.  Next up is the Potter Trail Tour where you’ll discover the magical locations that inspired characters and scenes in the Harry Potter series, visit the places where JK Rowling wrote the books, and even learn a spell or two along the way.  Even if you’re not a Harry fan, there’s still plenty to entertain you on this lively and atmospheric tour!  Finally finish off your day in the city with a Potion Making class (Cocktails or mocktails)  alternatively we can organise a visit to the Scotch Whisky Experience.  Overnight Edinburgh.

    Day 9

    Breakfast in hotel.  Check-out and meet your driver for your private transfer to Edinburgh Airport.
